Sony files trademark for “Kolaveri Di”
Sony Music Entertainment India plans to trademark the viral super hit “Why this Kolaveri Di”. Which means that the song will be the first song in India to have its first line trademarked.
This will allow Sony to launch various products like compact disks, cassettes, SD cards, film and non-film entertainment content and talent discovery programmes branded “Why this kolaveri di”. This will also restrict others from using the line.
“Kolaveri di” song was written and sung by actor Dhanush for Tamil film ’3′. It was recorded by Sony Music Entertainment India. It became a viral super hit with over 30 million hits on YouTube. However various versions of the song are being uploaded everyday from all over the world.
