Facebook Timeline creatively used to promote an anti-drugs message
Back in late September 2011, when Facebook’s Timeline feature started rolling out worldwide, it was inevitable that we’d see people playing with the format creatively. Currently there are more than hundreds of trending creative Facebook Timeline Profile Cover Designs on web. We also have shortlisted few of them and have featured on Most Viral Media.
Feacebook’s Timeline feature isn’t currently yet available for brands or organization to utilise via Facebook Pages, meaning that this is a standard user profile and thus, presumably, technically a violation of the company’s rules against fake profiles.

This could be the first example we would have seen as brand/organization coming forward with a public service social media advertisement (an anti-drugs campaign) promoted by the Israel Anti-Drug Authority by using the Timeline of a fictional ‘Adam Barak’, this campaign compares photos of a year with drugs versus a year without. Campaign was developed by agency McCann Digital Israel.
