Salman Khan keeps a tab on Don 2 Collection

The Bollywood Dabangg actor Salman Khan is keeping counting on the Box Office collections of Shah Rukh’s recently release Don 2. Reporter said Salman Khan is calling to distributors and getting updated Box Office collections of SRK’s Don 2.

According by report apparently he is also taking down notes and keeping a daily account It’s difficult to say the real reaction of Salman, after the affect success of don 2.

Don 2 all time Box Office Collection -

India

Don 2 had a good opening with an average of 80% occupancy levels all over India. In multiplexes occupancy stood at 80-85% and in single screens it stood at 70-75%. On the first day, the film collected 13.85 crore (US$2.63 million) nett from its Hindi version and an estimated Rs. 60 – 70 lakh (US$114,000 – US$133,000) nett from the Tamil and Telugu versions respectively. In the process, it became the third highest opening day grosser (fourth for the Hindi version) and the highest opening day grosser ever on a non-holiday Friday, surpassing the previous record holder Dabangg.

On its second day, Don 2 collected Rs. 14.50 crore (US$2.76 million) net from its Hindi version. The film managed to grow around 20-25% in the multiplexes and other high end cinemas. On its third day, Don 2 put up extraordinary numbers at high end multiplexes by grossing Rs. 17.25 crore (US$3.28 million) net from its Hindi version. Over the weekend, Don 2 grossed over Rs. 45.41 crore (US$8.63 million) net from its Hindi version and another Rs. 1.50 crore (US$285,000) nett from its Tamil and Telugu versions in two days.

The first weekend collection totaled Rs. 48.39 crore (US$9.19 million). The film earned Rs. 7.25 crore (US$1.38 million) net on Monday from its Hindi version while the all-India total, including the Tamil and Telugu versions, stood at around Rs. 8.01 crore (US$1.52 million). The film added another Rs. 6.50 crore (US$1.24 million) net on Tuesday from its Hindi version, thus taking the five days total net (Hindi alone) to Rs. 59 crore (US$11.21 million).

Overseas

Don 2 created several records on opening day overseas. The film grossed $550,000 from 164 theaters in the United States and beat My Name Is Khan which opened to $445,000. In the United Kingdom, the film debuted in the top ten and collected $527,000 in three days from 76 theaters. In the Middle East, Don 2 grossed $930,000 in two days, surpassing the collections of previous releases like Ra.One. The film also broke the record for the highest single day collections in Australia where it took $82,000 thus beating Bodyguard. The film grossed $136,000 in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji in its first two days. The film made Rs. 37.11 crore (US$7.05 million) worldwide over the weekend. Don 2 made $2,081,205 from Friday to Monday in the United States. It was more than the combined collections of Dabangg, Bodyguard and Ready over that same time period.
