Twitter updates its Android Mobile Application

Twitter has updated its Android mobile application. The new updated version packs a brand new interface that is more in line with Twitter’s applications for other platforms. The new Twitter for Android app lets Twitter browse even without signing in. Now its possible to view current trends or suggested users and can even create a new Twitter account from within the application.

The new updated version of Twitter features a significantly different UI from the previous version. The new version also prominently features tabs for the timeline, replies, direct messages and user lists at the top, which makes navigation easier. Mentions tab now also shows you your retweets. Auto-complete for user names is also added.

The search functionality has also been updated. You can now search for tweets with a particular term in them, tweets sent by people near your location and people whose user names include that term. You can also see which one of the people from your address book is on Twitter. The new version of Twitter for Android is only available for Android devices with v2.1 or higher.
