Mobile Number Portability Officially Launched In India
Long awaited Mobile Number Portability (MNP) has finally been going to be launched throughout India. Launched in November last year in Haryana, MNP services will now be available for all the mobile operators from 20th January 2011.
With just Rs 19/- you can switch your mobile operator without any hassles. It will just take 7 working days (porting time) for switching to the new operator. If you don’t like your operator because of bad signal reception or no network, then it is high time for you to switch to the new operator.
To avail the MNP, Customer will have to send an SMS “PORT” followed by Mobile Number to short code 1900. Based on this subscriber will get a unique porting code as SMS from the existing service provider.The customer can then make an application in the prescribed form mentioning the code to the selected new service provider for porting of number.
So guys now will you change your network due to bad tariff rates or lacking unlimited data plans or even poor network coverage. Do share your feedbacks, which operator would you like to migrate to and the reason for your selection.
